Spore Hero: Almost Something Special, but not

Posted: 06 Nov 2009 04:39 PM PST

Once upon a time, there was a nice colorful peaceful planet filled with nice, colorful, peaceful creatures who liked to sing, dance, and fight for sport – until one day, twin meteors fell from the sky, crashing on the planet surface.  One meteor brought an evil presence set on corrupting the planet – the other [...]

Posted: 06 Nov 2009 12:29 PM PST

Nintendo’s own Reggie Fils-Aime openly declared to GameTrailers TV that the Wii HD simply does not exist: Reggie: Michael [Pachter] continues to be the only one who believes that this is gonna happen. I don’t know how forcefully we can say there is no Wii HD. Keighley: It’s not coming, period? Reggie: No. [As Transcribed by Kotaku] And a ding [...]

Whew!

Posted: 06 Nov 2009 08:29 AM PST

The last remaining qualm I may have had with this game just went away like a smashed Goomba. [L]et’s make one thing clear: NSMBW is absolutely brilliant in single-player. While trailers and on-stage demonstrations focused on the game’s new multiplayer element, this is a single-player Mario game in exactly the same vein as its classic predecessors, [...]

Atlus announces New Shin Megami Tensai title

Posted: 05 Nov 2009 01:32 PM PST

With the success of SMT: Devil Survivor it’s no surprise that their would be a new DS title in the franchise. To find out more about the title hit the jump, or bribe a demon or something. When the black spot appeared in the Antarctic, mankind became nervous; when it began to spread, that anxiety turned [...]

During the semi-annual fiscal results briefing at Nintendo one of the investors asked an important question. How is Zelda coming along? Club Nintendo Swag or “How Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Nintendo of America”

Posted: 05 Nov 2009 09:12 AM PST

After receiving my Club Nintendo calendar, it got me thinking about the other cool stuff that I could buy in the Rewards section of the website. I headed over to club.nintendo.com, and found myself faced with a few things that maybe piqued my interest, but nothing that I was overly excited about. Some posters, game [...]

New Super Mario Bros. Wii enables “super skills” of awesomness AND attractiveness

Posted: 03 Nov 2009 04:08 PM PST

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pg7gP7-sQMQ At two weeks old, this trailer is a dinosaur in internet time. But I just stumbled upon it today while perusing the official game page. And it makes the game look even more awesome, assuming that’s humanly possible.

Review: Spore Hero Arena is a Dismal, Poor Add-On to the Series

Posted: 03 Nov 2009 03:46 PM PST

A while back, Maxis announced their latest and greatest new franchise: Spore. The promise was to experience evolution in a whole new gameplay experience. Sadly, the majority of consumers found this to be a disappointing experience. Spore Hero Arena, the latest attempt at the game on the Nintendo DS, is dismal. You start off crash landing [...]

Poll – DSi XL

Posted: 03 Nov 2009 02:34 PM PST

We’ve had a lot of chatter about the DSi XL here on Infendo this week.  Some folks think it’s the bee’s knees while others are annoyed.  DSi owners feel slighted since the just bought the latest Nintendo gadget while people who didn’t bother with the DSi are chuckling with glee.  Where do you stand? Do you [...]

Youtube Tuesday – How Miyamoto Draws Mario

Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of some of Nintendo’s most enduring video games, demonstrates how to draw Mario. I have to say that was pretty slick with the rim of the hat.

Confirmed: Next Zelda title will use Wii MotionPlus

Posted: 03 Nov 2009 07:31 AM PST

The next Zelda title, we learned today, is about to go MotionPlus exclusive. The confirmation came from notoriously loose-lipped Shigeru Miyamoto, in an interview from Tokyo this week. "In this (installment of the series), we're using MotionPlus to make you feel much more like you're actually fighting while holding a sword in your hand," Miyamoto said. [...]

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to My Past

Posted: 03 Nov 2009 02:00 AM PST

For me, there is one video game that stands the test of time more than any other: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. As the subtitle is a crucial part to the game’s storyline, the game itself is a crucial link to my childhood, which largely consisted of Saturday morning cartoons, Wrestle [...]

DSi XL: Is Nintendo short on ideas now?

Posted: 02 Nov 2009 01:01 PM PST

Nintendo is the most innovative video game designer in the world. That’s a historical fact. Not the only innovator, but undoubtedly the most prolific. Nevertheless, I greeted last week’s announcement of an enlarged DSi with as much enthusiasm as I would a new Star Fox game—by yawning. Why the downer, you ask? Because unlike the [...]

Nintendo is looking at the business model of Amazon’s Kindle as it considers the future for its portable consoles, the company’s president said yesterday. “I’m interested because it’s a new business model in [...]
